Between 7 and 11 May this year, Daimler AG is once again presenting its technical innovations and practical everyday solutions for high-profile fleets at what is probably the most important specialist trade show of its sector: Ifat Entsorga 2012. Interested decision-makers and operators are able to view a diverse product offering from Mercedes-Benz and its system partners comprising multifunctional vehicles, innovative special-purpose bodies and attachments, and also safe, comfortable working environments.
Stand 321 in Hall C4 and the demonstration areas in the outdoor site forming part of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre are being used as the platform for sharing information and discussing all there is to know about the practical applications making up everyday municipal operations. Business visitors also have the opportunity to experience the special-purpose vehicles first-hand and test them out for themselves on-site.
The world's leading trade show for environmental technology is this year again expected to set some new records. In an area covering more than 215,000 square metres, of which 180,000 square metres are under cover in the halls, visitors can find no less than 2700 exhibitors displaying their products and services.
The traditional highlights of the show include waste collection and transport as well as street cleaning and winter road services. This year both new products and tried-and-tested technological solutions for the water, sewage, waste and raw materials management industries are again being presented.
A total of 27 international joint stands from 17 countries have registered for Ifat Entsorga. Japan, Canada, Norway, Russia and Spain are taking joint stands at the event for the first time.
The surrounding programme is characterised in particular by the wide variety of the topics it covers. Experienced professionals, leading national and international associations and also government agencies and ministries are all expected to contribute once again to making Ifat Entsorga the must-attend international event of its sector in 2012 too.
Other highlights include the VDMA "Practical Days" in the outdoor area as well as the VAK "Trucks in Action" event. A dedicated outdoor area is the venue for seeing a special demonstration of modern, special-purpose vehicle solutions. Visitors also have the opportunity to view in action all of the latest developments in the areas of waste collection and disposal, street cleaning and winter road services, as well as a variety of other specialist applications.
The special exhibition entitled "100 years of municipal cleansing", held in the International Congress Centre Munich, is featuring vintage equipment and vehicles which have been used in municipal cleaning.
The "Mega Cities - Mega Chances" congress forum is presenting information on the challenges and opportunities for urban infrastructure solutions. The exhibitors attending Ifat Entsorga currently already offer solutions meeting the challenges of tomorrow and as such are tapping into a market which is worth billions.
Forums presenting platforms for company events and presentations, country specials, technical discussions and other special events, as well as practical live demonstrations in the outdoor area, are designed to ensure an exchange of experience and know-how.
Daimler Trucks and system partners exhibit latest municipal solutions
As the market leader in commercial vehicles offering the best technological developments and customer-specific services, Daimler AG is once again making the most of Ifat Entsorga to present its product range. At the same time the leading environmental trade show provides the ideal opportunity to exchange information with partners, customers and friends. One particular point of focus is the provision of competent presales and aftersales advisory and customer care services.
Daimler AG's vehicles have long been deployed in almost all segments of the municipal services sector. They are used as waste collection, suction or cleaning vehicles, as chassis for winter and road service operations, or as multifunctional implement carriers for demanding applications involving gritting, mowing or tunnel cleaning services.
Specialists in the industry visiting the show are able to see the entire range of commercial vehicles - from economical vans through to powerful semitrailer tractors, as well as the highly-flexible Unimog. All of the vehicles boast a variety of economical, ecological and ergonomic strengths, and meet the strictest of standards in terms of safety both on the road and in the workplace. Here the developers at Daimler AG have opted for solutions which reliably fulfil a variety of requirements, from the cleaning of narrow streets in the historic districts of towns - with the Fuso Canter for example - through to the heavy demands of the off-road sector - courtesy of the Unimog and Zetros.
Models such as the Actros, Axor, Econic, Zetros, Fuso Canter, Sprinter, and also the Unimog family, have therefore all been specially optimised and adapted for an extremely wide variety of municipal applications.
Spotlight on the new Actros, Fuso Canter TF and Econic LNG
The new Actros, revised Fuso Canter TF, and also the Econic LNG (liquefied gas) on display at this year's Ifat Entsorga are all proof that the special-purpose vehicles of Daimler AG are not only able to meet the demands posed by the sector today, but are also always one step ahead for the future.
The latest generation Actros sets new standards both technologically and aesthetically, and has rightly earned top marks from the specialist press as well as positive feedback from its initial customers.
The Fuso Canter ,on the other hand, is once again living up to its reputation as the "favourite" of the municipal services sector thanks to its new technology and enhanced appearance.
The Econic, meanwhile, is again justifying its image as a "trendsetter" in the waste-disposal sector with its environmentally-friendly gas engine. Visitors to Ifat Entsorga are able to learn all about the economical, environmental and operational benefits of the Econic both on the show stand and in the demonstration area.
