- Stuttgart / Wörth am Rhein , Apr 30, 2021 - Dr. Matthias Jurytko, currently Plant Manager and Head of Production at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth, will move to cellcentric, the fuel cell joint venture of Daimler Truck AG and the Volvo Group, as of 1 June 2021. He will take over the role of Managing Director and CEO there.

- GRAZ/WIEN/KAMENZ, Dec 10, 2020 - Mercedes-Benz Energy GmbH, subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz AG and international supplier of automotive energy storage systems and international technology group ANDRITZ, one of the globally leading suppliers of electro-mechanical equipment and services for hydropower stations, have signed a cooperation agreement to supply modern hybrid energy solutions for the hydropower market based on stationary energy storage systems.

- Alameda/Stuttgart, Apr 16, 2019 - Daimler AG has acquired a minority equity stake in U.S. battery material specialist Sila Nanotechnologies Inc. (Sila Nano) as part of its research and development activities. Founded in 2011, Sila Nano is a leading developer of new battery materials, which outperform existing lithium-ion technologies.

- Stuttgart, Feb 13, 2019 - The Supervisory Board of Daimler AG has appointed Harald Wilhelm as member of the company’s Board of Management. Effective as of April 1, 2019, he will join the Board of Management without direct responsibilities and will assume Board of Management responsibility for Finance & Controlling and the Daimler Financial Services division at the end of the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on May 22, 2019.

- Stuttgart, Nov 29, 2016 - BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company and Volkswagen Group with Audi and Porsche have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to create the highest-powered charging network in Europe. The goal is the quick build-up of a sizable number of stations in order to enable long-range travel for battery electric vehicle drivers. This will be an important step towards facilitating mass-market BEV adoption.

- Hanover/Stuttgart, Feb 1, 2016 - Cooperation partners Daimler AG with its wholly owned subsidiary ACCUMOTIVE and enercity (Stadtwerke Hannover AG) will start work on the construction of a new battery storage facility this year. What makes it particularly special is the fact that this is a spare parts storage facility for electromotive battery systems. Around 3000 of the battery modules, determined for the current smart electric drive vehicle fleet, are being pooled to create a stationary storage facility at the enercity site in Herrenhausen.

- Lünen/Stuttgart, Nov 3, 2015 - The world's largest 2nd-use battery storage unit will soon go into operation in the Westphalian town of Lünen. A joint venture between Daimler AG, The Mobility House AG and GETEC, it will be operated from the beginning of next year at the site of REMONDIS SE and marketed in the German electricity balancing sector. A special feature of this venture is the use of second-life battery systems from electric vehicles.

- Stuttgart/Berlin, Apr 23, 2014 - They bring the best students to Germany and make them fit for the world market: The University of Bremen and the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University for Applied Sciences have won the “MINTernational” competition. The objective of this competition is to increase the internationalization of the MINT subjects. The support program is an initiative of the Association for the Promotion of German Science, the Daimler and Benz Foundation and the Daimler Endowment Fund.

- PARIS, Frankreich , Sep 28, 2012 - Daimler and the Renault-Nissan Alliance are collaborating on two new projects to accelerate development of fuel-efficient powertrains. Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn and Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche confirmed the new projects Friday in an annual media update about the Franco-Japanese-German partnership.
