The ergonomics test bench with a 200-degree projection wall - one of a kind - allows the Mercedes engineers to assess the new GLK‘s sitting positions, spaciousness, visibility, control systems and display functions under realistic conditions at an early stage during the development process. The findings from these tests are later simulated and further optimised in the „CAVE“ (Computer Aided Virtual Environment) with the aid of three-dimensional projection technology. Finally the development results are verified on the ergonomics test bench using a real model.
