Vehicle profile: Mercedes-Benz Tourismo M 16 RHD right-hand drive

Equipment (excerpt): Concurrent with the left-hand-drive versions the high-decker Tourismo touring coach also starts as a right-hand-drive bus certified to Euro VI emission standards. It is characterised by several special features. On the British version on display here the passenger door moves to the left side of the vehicle. But the centre door on the right-hand side is retained. It serves as an emergency exit as well as a passenger door when travelling on the Continent. The automatic transmission and the 290 kW (394 hp) engine of the three-axle bus also meet British demands.
The floor covering in the passenger compartment of the white high-decker bus combines dark grey and orange red colours. The 53 Travel Star Xtra passenger seats present themselves in the colour marone, the leather head sections in pebble and the backs of the backrests as well as the curtains also in marone. The upper section of the lavatory at the centre door is removable; another double seat is therefore included in the scope of delivery to increase seating capacity. The entertainment features include a DVD player with two screens.
The extensive standard safety features of the Tourismo are rounded off by a tyre pressure monitoring system, an acoustic reverse warning system, and a fire extinguishing system in the engine compartment.
