  • Stuttgart/ Portland (Oregon), Jan 21, 2020 - In the U.S. state of Virginia students will soon be going to school in electric buses. Thomas Built Buses, the North American Daimler Trucks subsidiary, was selected to provide the first 50 fully-electric versions of the iconic black and yellow school buses in the first step of an initiative by Virginia based power company Dominion Energy, which plans to switch1,050 of the school buses in Virginia from diesel to electrically powered ones.
  • Stuttgart / Portland, OR., Feb 28, 2012 - The American Daimler subsidiary Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has been certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as fully compliant with the new “Greenhouse Gas 2014” (GHG14) regulation for its complete product portfolio of model year 2013 long-distance haulage, medium duty, construction and municipal vehicles.
  • High Point, N.C., Jul 9, 2010 - Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) and Daimler Buses have once again received orders for low-emission vehicles. Thomas Built Buses, Daimler Trucks North America’s school bus manufacturer, has received an order for 130 compressed natural gas (CNG) school buses. That’s the biggest contract for natural gas buses in the company’s history. The buses were ordered by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), and the vehicles are scheduled to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2010.
  • High Point, USA, Mar 22, 2010 - Durham School Services, which transports students throughout the U.S., has placed an order with Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) for 288 Saf-T-Liner EF school buses with SCR technology. Delivery of the vehicles, which are made by Thomas Built Buses, is scheduled to commence in late May 2010. The buses will be used for transporting public school students in Indianapolis, the capital of Indiana.
  • High Point, USA , Dec 21, 2009 - Thomas Built Buses, Daimler Trucks North America’s school bus manufacturer, has received an order for 59 Saf-T-Liner HDX school buses. The contract, which was concluded with Montgomery County in the US state of Maryland, is the first major order for buses with SCR technology received by Thomas Built Buses.
  • High Point, USA, Jun 18, 2009 - Thomas Built Buses, the school bus subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America, has added a new product offering to its lineup. The new vehicle, “MyBus,” was designed specifically to fill the transportation needs of small groups and is particularly well suited for childcare centers, service organizations, small businesses, and other groups and clubs.
  • Stuttgart/Detroit, Oct 19, 2007 - Andreas Renschler, member of the Daimler Board of Management and Head of the Daimler Trucks Division, and his colleagues, Dr. Michael Dostal, who is responsible for Powertrain Operations & Manufacturing Engineering, and Chris Patterson, who is responsible for the NAFTA Region and the commercial vehicle brands Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star, and Thomas Built Buses, today presented the new Heavy-Duty Engine Platform (HDEP) for the North American market in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.
