Facts & figures from Imola: F1 returned to Imola last weekend after a 14-year absence. For the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari was terra incognita, but the team rose to the challenge of the unfamiliar track and the unusual two-day format to post a one-two win in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. It was the 58th time the team has monopolised the two top spots of the podium and the 100th win in the hybrid era. Lewis Hamilton not only recorded the 93rd victory of his F1 career but also posted his 5,000th lap as race leader in the premier class of motorsport. Valtteri rounded off a strong team performance by finishing in second place – the perfect way to secure a seventh consecutive constructors’ title and to set a new world record in Formula One #HIS7ORY.

World record for EQ Power: But it was not only the F1 team who passed a significant milestone last weekend. From Saturday 30 October until Sunday 1 November, the Voxan Wattman electric motorbike set no fewer than eleven new world speed records at an airfield at Châteauroux in France – thanks to EQ Power. The motorbike was powered by a 270kW electric motor developed at Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains in Brixworth. The Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team was using an updated powertrain when it posted its maiden victory in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship last season. Over the course of three days, the streamlined version of the Voxan Wattman reached a top speed of 408 km/h. The record-breaking electric bike was driven by former MotoGP rider and two-time Superbike World Champion Max Biaggi.

Third ADAC GT Masters victory of the season for Mercedes-AMG and vital points towards the championship: On the sixth weekend of the 2020 ADAC GT Masters, this time hosted by the Lausitzring, the Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing teams mounted a number of heroic charges through the field to record a third victory of the season and bank vital championship points in the title chase. Dorian Boccolacci (FRA) and Mick Wishofer (AUT) of Team Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing drove to victory in the second race of the weekend from 17th place on the grid. Maro Engel and Luca Stolz (both GER) in the number 22 Toksport WRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 likewise made significant progress in the second race. Having started from 19th on the grid, the duo advanced to fourth place and scored important points towards the championship. Engel and Stolz are currently fourth, just 14 points behind the leaders. There are still 50 points up for grabs in the grand finale to the season which is scheduled for next weekend. MANN-FILTER Team HTP-WINWARD (grid P20) and DLV Team Schütz Motorsport (grid P11) contributed two more Top Ten results in the second race thanks to some astute overtaking which took them up to fifth and seventh respectively. In the first race of the weekend, the number 47 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of MANN-FILTER Team HTP-WINWARD had posted the best result for the Customer Sports contingent with a P2 for their number 47 car. The last two races of the 2020 ADAC GT Masters will be contested at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on the weekend of 6th - 8th November.

Championship lead defended in the ADAC GT4 Germany: Rounds nine and ten of the 2020 ADAC GT4 Germany took place as part of the support programme to the ADAC GT Masters at the Lausitzring. Julien Apothéloz (SUI) and Luca-Sandro Trefz (GER) in the number 48 Mercedes-AMG GT4 of MANN-FILTER Team HTP-WINWARD finished fourth and eleventh, which was enough for them to retain their lead in the championship standings. Jan Marschalkowski (GER) of Team Zakspeed takes his lead in the Junior championship to the final weekend of the season at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

Top Ten finishes for Customer Sports teams in the IMSA: At the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the Customer Sports teams achieved no fewer than four Top Ten finishes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportCar Championship and the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. The number 74 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Riley Motorsports driven by Lawson Aschenbach and Gar Robinson (both USA) came ninth in the GTD class. The two Mercedes-AMG GT4s of Winward Racing driven by the pairings of Nico Bastian (GER) / Russel Ward (USA) and Alec Udell / Bryce Ward (both USA) finished fourth and tenth respectively. Eric Foss and Jeff Mosing (both USA) of Murillo Racing contributed another Top Ten result, crossing the line in seventh at the end of the two-hour race.

Three class wins for the Mercedes-AMG GT3 on the final weekend of the International GT Open: JP Motorsport celebrated a gratifying end to the year on the final weekend of the 2020 International GT Open at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Their number 88 Mercedes-AMG GT3 driven by Christian Klien and Patryk Krupinski (both AUT) prevailed in the Pro-Am class, securing a fourth class win of the year. The duo finished the season as runners-up in the Pro-Am championship, just one point behind first place. Meanwhile, the AKKA ASP team were making a successful guest start in the Am class: Jérôme Policand (FRA) and Mauro Ricci (ITA) won both of the 60-minute races to claim the top spot on the podium twice over the course of the weekend. The Mercedes-AMG GT4 made its last appearance of the year in the GT Cup Open which forms part of the supporting programme. Jesús A De Martin Muñoz and Rafael Villanueva (both ESP) in the number 15 car fielded by NM Racing Team finished third overall in both races.

Class victory and podium success on the world stage: The third of six Super Taikyu Organization races in Japan took place this weekend at the Okayama International Circuit. At the end of three hours’ racing, the number 500 Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Team 5ZIGEN with their driver quartet of Takayuki Aoki, Ryuichiro Otsuka, Yuya Sakamoto and Kazuya Shimogaki (all JPN) crossed the finish line in third place, a result that was enough to hand them victory in the ST-Z class. And there is one further podium success to report from the Thailand Super Series: in the first of two events, Anusorn Asiralertsiri and Pasarit Promsombat (both THA) took the number 7 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of YK Motorsports Billionaire Boy By Sunoco to third place.
