  • Daimler leaves no doubt about its aspirations for technological leadership in digital vehicle development
Stuttgart – 'Global engineering – unique products' is the theme of the EDM CAE Forum, Daimler's 11th inhouse technology exchange. It takes place today and tomorrow in the ICS at Stuttgart exhibition centre.
This year, the focus is on digital processes and global engineering. Product lifecycle management features strongly as Daimler has just successfully completed the biggest CAD software swich in recent decades.
More than 100 technical presentations, workshops and a trade show with 200 exhibition stands offer visitors and participants opportunities for information and in-depth discussion.
Helmut Schütt, CIO Daimler Trucks, Buses and Vans said: "We are exploring new avenues for creating new strength, and our development partners are right by our side. The digital product design process will safeguard our competitive position and secure it for the long term. IT plays a key role because dialogue between engineering and internal and external partners would be impossible without it."
