Mercedes-Benz has this year been honoured with the coveted title of 'red dot: client of the year'. In awarding this accolade, the most prestigious design competition in the world is acknowledging the particularly innovative and leading-edge marketing and communications work undertaken by the brand represented by the three-pointed star. The title will be conferred as the highlight of a gala ceremony to mark the presentation of the 'red dot award: communication design' at the 'Konzerthaus Berlin' concert hall on 24 October 2012.

With its sculpture entitled "Aesthetics S", Mercedes-Benz is providing an artistic glimpse of the design of the luxury saloon of the foreseeable future. The aesthetics of the relief-like sculpture are combined with an exciting projection display. In the eyes of the observer, this creates a three-dimensional world and enables the creative imagination of the designers to be visualised to impressive effect. The modern production in three acts, developed by the Mercedes-Benz designers, will be on display in Hall 1 at the Paris Motor Show (27 September to 14 October 2012).

Mercedes-Benz sets sustainable trends in automotive design with maximum aesthetic appeal. The jury of the world's most renowned design competition has acknowledged this fact by awarding the Stuttgart-based company the coveted red dot award for three new Mercedes-Benz car models simultaneously. The winners are the B-Class, the C-Class Coupé and the SLS AMG Roadster. The smart ebike has received the red dot: best of the best award for highest design quality.

The competition’s top-flight expert jury voted the Mercedes-Benz design team "Team of the year". The new SLS AMG is to receive an internationally renowned design award, the "iF product design award 2010". The iF product design award was first presented in 1953, and ranks among the most impor-tant design awards of all. The 24-member jury chose 778 entries from around 2500 candidates in 16 categories; the SLS was up against numerous well-known competitors in the "Transportation Design" category.
