Welcome to Daimler Buses!

"Daimler Buses. The leading supplier of buses and mobility solutions" – this is our motto for the further development and shaping of bus mobility around the globe. And it is in this spirit that we can look back on a successful and intensive business year 2019: in those markets with increasing or continuing high demand, for example in Brazil or Europe, we have seized our opportunities and extended our leading position. In Brazil, two of three buses were Mercedes-Benz and in Germany we are delighted with a market share of more than 50 percent. In declining markets such as Argentina, we have also increased our sales and market share with strong products. This shows that we provide our customers all over the world with the right products and a tailor-made service and that our bus team supports our customers with enthusiasm.

With the modernization of our minibus family, the foundation of the business unit Daimler Coaches North America (DCNA) and the introduction of a range of new digital services, we have thus set a significant course for the future. Our Mercedes-Benz eCitaro has become a success story since its market launch in 2018. It is now being driven in numerous European countries and is thus making a significant contribution to emission-free local transport. This has given us the motivation to extend our charging and battery technologies for the eCitaro or, this year, to begin delivering the articulated bus variant, the eCitaro G. We offer our customers comprehensive support in the form of eMobility Consulting to facilitate their profitable transition to electric drives.

For the coming year, too, we have set ourselves ambitious goals with a clear strategy – a strategy that we are also putting into practice. First of all: continued expansion of our global market presence. Secondly: expansion of our leading position in terms of technology and an increase in the CO2 neutrality of our fleet whilst still maintaining efficiency, safety and comfort. In doing so, we are not restricting ourselves to technologies in the vehicle but are also including digital services relevant to the vehicle. And thirdly: business excellence with an efficient global production network. Furthermore, with the right partners we can be even more successful. This means that in the future too, we will further develop and shape (bus) mobility with a clear objective: we will continue to offer our customers the best comprehensive product range – comprising vehicles, services, consulting and mobility solutions.
