At this year's IFAT show, the world's leading trade fair for water, effluent, waste and raw materials management, Daimler AG is once again represented with a broad product portfolio. From 30 May to 3 June, Daimler is showing numerous powerful, economical and safe vehicles for the municipal sector.
Internationally represented decision-makers, procurement specialists and users are able to familiarise themselves with the entire vehicle range and innovative body variants on stand 341 in Hall C4 and in the open area.
This time the very latest technological developments in trucks, vans and special trucks by the Mercedes-Benz and Fuso brands will also be on display. In addition to the performance, functionality and economy of Daimler municipal vehicles, the focus is above all on environmentally friendly Euro VI, Euro 5b+ technology and innovative hybrid drive systems.
Job-matched configurations developed by Daimler in cooperation with bodybuilder partners for collecting and transporting waste, for winter and road maintenance services and for on and off-road operations will be showcased at the fair.The range of vehicles covers the Antos, Arocs and Atego as well as the Unimog and Econic special trucks and the Sprinter. Plus the latest generation of Fuso Canter models.
From the lightweight Sprinter and the versatile Unimog to the heavy-duty Arocs
The stand exhibits include a Mercedes-Benz Atego with a crewcab and platform, a Mercedes-Benz Arocs with a road sweeper body and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 5.5-tonne panel van.
Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks is represented with a Mercedes-Benz Econic 2630 6x2/4 chassis, and is presenting two Mercedes-Benz Unimog implement carriers: The Unimog U 430 with a front-mounted mulcher by Mulag and a special platform plus a frame-mounted cable winch with rear extension and slope support by forestry specialist Schlang & Reichart shows the possible applications in water management.
The second exhibit, a Unimog U 530 as the largest model in the implement carrier series, is on display as a professional winter service vehicle for Alpine regions. For operations with an FS 105 snow blower by Schmidt, the Unimog is equipped with hydrostatic drive, a mechanical front-mounted pto and four-wheel steering to further improve manoeuvrability. Also included in the equipment is a four cubic metre flat-hopper wet salt spreader mounted on the Unimog's ball points.
The compact and versatile Fuso Canter is displayed in a separate area, where it will impress specialist visitors with its economy and environmental compatibility as a waste collection vehicle.
Tailor-made body and conversion solutions for all seasons
Daimler AG is teaming up with specialist bodybuilders at IFAT 2016 to present numerous industry-specific solutions for all seasons. The exhibited vehicles will demonstrate their suitability for numerous public service tasks thanks to a combination of power, economy, safety and ergonomics in conjunction with various bodies, conversions and items of add-on equipment. In addition to new concepts for waste collection vehicles and road sweepers, a broad range of winter service equipment will also be on show.
The long-standing partners from the bodybuilder sector include specialists such as Palfinger, Meiller, Küpper-Weisser, Aebi Schmidt, Mulag, Heinz Schutz, Bucher-Schörling, Müller Umwelttechnik, Faun and Zöller-Kipper.
