  • Iracemápolis, Sep 2, 2016 - Five months after the official plant opening in Brazil, Mercedes-Benz has started the production of a second model at its new passenger-car plant in Iracemápolis. The compact SUV GLA will be flexibly assembled on the same line as the C-Class Sedan.
  • Stuttgart, Germany / Iracemápolis, Brazil, Feb 5, 2015 - Mercedes-Benz has celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for a new passenger cars plant in Brazil and thereby continues to further expand its global production network. The new Mercedes-Benz plant in Iracemápolis near São Paulo will start production of the C-Class in the first quarter of 2016, and production of the GLA compact SUV will follow in the middle of the year.

He is to take the position after 26 years at Scania, where until now he was General Director with responsibility for the entire sales and aftersales operations.

For the second time in a row, the Daimler subsidiary Mercedes-Benz do Brasil is supporting the long-established carnival troupe from the samba school “Escola de Samba Sociedade Rosas de Ouro” in São Paulo.
  • Stuttgart / São Paulo, Dec 18, 2013 - The truck product range of Daimler in Brazil has again convinced customers from government and the private sector. The Daimler subsidiary Mercedes-Benz do Brazil will start immediate deliveries of a total of 607 Mercedes-Benz trucks to two major customers. Of this total, 357 medium-duty Mercedes-Benz Atron are going to the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil and 250 Mercedes-Benz trucks of the Atron and Axor type to the leasing company Ouro Verde from the southern state of Paraná.
  • Stuttgart, Dec 3, 2013 - As one of the twelve locations for the World Soccer Cup in 2014, the large metropolitan city of Belo Horizonte in Southeast Brazil is gearing up for the increasing urban passenger transport next year. That is why the operator companies of the new Bus Rapid Transit system (BRT) “MOVE” are investing in 500 bus chassis by Mercedes-Benz.
  • Stuttgart / Brasília, Oct 4, 2013 - The Daimler subsidiary, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, has won major orders from four local transport services in a tender from Brasília’s municipal government for renewal of the fleet of public passenger transport vehicles. The total order includes 2,100 Mercedes-Benz bus chassis, which are now being delivered.
  • Stuttgart/São Paulo, Oct 1, 2013 - Daimler expands in Brazil by adding a new facility to the global passenger car production network of Mercedes-Benz Cars. In the future, the next-generation C-Class and the GLA will be produced for the local market in a new assembly plant in Iracemápolis near São Paulo.

  • São Bernardo do Campo, Brasilien, Sep 10, 2010 - The Mercedes-Benz Actros for long-haulage has now gone on sale in Brazil. With the introduction of on-road models in August, Mercedes-Benz is ramping up its activities in Brazil. Back in March, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil announced that it would be increasing the production capacity of its plant in São Bernardo do Campo by 2012 in order to meet the growing demand for commercial vehicles in Brazil.
  • São Bernardo do Campo, Brasilien , Jun 8, 2010 - Beginning next year, Mercedes-Benz Trucks will expand its production network to include the Juiz de Fora plant in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, where it will manufacture heavy-duty Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks for the Latin American market. As a result, Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ flagship vehicle will be produced in the plants at Wörth in Germany and Aksaray in Turkey, as well as in Brazil. The move will enable Mercedes-Benz do Brasil to respond more quickly and flexibly to the growing demand for trucks in Latin America.
  • Stuttgart/São Bernardo do Campo, Oct 29, 2009 - Brazil is the largest market for Mercedes-Benz trucks in the world in this year. Between January and September 2009, the Brazilian unit of Daimler Trucks registered sales volume of more than 23,000 units of all weight classes. This equals a decrease of -20% compared to the same period of the record year 2008, a decline that has been much lower than in other major Mercedes-Benz truck market worldwide.
  • São Bernardo do Campo, Brasilien, Sep 30, 2009 - Mercedes-Benz do Brasil is hiring 800 new employees to work in trucks and buses production, in its plant in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo. Furthermore, the current 350 temporary employees will become regular contract employees during October. Additionally to the mentioned figures the company will take over 160 apprentices as regular employees.
  • Stuttgart, Aug 12, 2008 - The investment will be destined to the increase of the production capacity of trucks, buses and components in the plant of São Bernardo do Campo (Brazil). The resources will also be used for the modernization of production processes, the improvement of the logistics system and the increase of the local content rate in the products.
  • Stuttgart/São Bernardo, Jul 4, 2008 - Mercedes-Benz do Brasil is the leading seller of commercial vehicles in the Brazilian market. In the first half of this year 19,246 trucks were sold in the segment over 3.5 tons of total gross weight (TGW). This result ensures Mercedes-Benz the leadership with a 31 percent market share. In the bus segment Mercedes-Benz sold 7,710 units, representing a 50 percent market share.
