Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a 100% subsidiary of Daimler AG, is celebrating its first production anniversary: The 5,000th truck of the BharatBenz brand has rolled off the assembly line in Chennai. The anniversary truck is a heavy-duty BharatBenz 2523C construction truck with 25 tons gross vehicle weight and an output of 230 hp. DICV launched the series production of BharatBenz trucks with this model in June 2012.

Following its construction in a record time of about 24 months, the new state-of-the-art production plant of the wholly owned Daimler subsidiary, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., has been completed in Oragadam-Chennai.
