It is midsummer in Central Europe and temperatures are rising by the day. Most people look forward to days like these: sunshine, an open-air swimming pool and perhaps a visit to an ice-cream parlour. But for professional truck drivers, hot days take on a different aspect: turn up the air conditioner and hope to find a parking space in the shade. Mercedes-Benz Genuine Accessories has solutions for all the brand's trucks which make the heat and working in the truck on hot days much more bearable.

There is a bewildering choice of portable navigation devices on the market today. However, not all of them are suitable for trucks: it is important that the navigation device comes with an installation kit that allows it to be fitted in a safe position for driving, as well as software which makes allowance for the vehicle’s specific profile. Otherwise, drivers could perhaps find themselves stuck under a bridge that is too low or driving down a street that is too narrow.

A new truck navigation system is available ex factory with immediate effect for Mercedes-Benz trucks from the Atego, Axor and Actros model series. Map material is provided for 26 European countries and there is a choice of 15 European languages for the voice instructions. The truck navigation system takes into account the specific requirements of commercial vehicles (e.g. by providing information on weight restrictions, limited overhead and width clearances, special routes into town centres, etc.)
